EXC09 – Supervise and carry out health and safety requirements in the workplace
EXC10 – Operating portable powered plant equipment in the workplace
EXC11 – Instruct and direct manual excavation of ground and surfaces to form holes and trenches
EXC12 – Carry out secondary dimensional control for excavation operations
EXC13 – Monitoring and contributing to the progress of work operations
EXC14 – Operate mobile plant equipment to excavate ground and various materials

Entry Requirements:
- Applicants should be able to read & write in English.
- Applicants must be 18 years of age or over.
- Provide a health Certificate stating the applicant is fit and able to follow this course, issued by a General practitioner is required.
- Applicants should have successfully completed the MQF Level 2 Award in Understanding Health and Safety or equivalent.
- Applicants should have successfully completed the Award for Demolition Operative (with no license to operate small mobile plants) or: provide Work History Declaration and proof of three or more years of experience
Grading system:
The following grades correspond to specific performance levels for each unit:
- Grade A: Demonstrates a sophisticated understanding of the topic, exhibiting a high degree of competence, and incorporates relevant literature, theory, and methodology effectively (Marks Range: 80 – 100).
- Grade B: Displays a critical understanding of the topic with a significant degree of competence and appropriately uses relevant materials (Marks Range: 65 – 79).
- Grade C: Shows evidence of some critical understanding of the topic, constructs structured arguments, and demonstrates competence in using relevant materials (Marks Range: 50 – 64).
- Grade R: Signifies the need for considerable further work to meet the minimum requirements in understanding, implementation, and competence in relevant literature, theory, and methodology (Marks Range: 0 – 49).
