Entry Requirements:
MQF Level 2 Award in Demolition Plant Operative or equivalent
MQF Level 2 Award in Understanding Health & Safety or equivalent.
Minimum age: 18 years.
Ability to read and write in English.
Overall Programme Description:
This programme covers the theoretical and practical skills required for safe and efficient demolition work, including the operation of small mobile plant equipment. Participants will learn about personal protective equipment, hazards of working at height, and safe handling of heavy machinery.
The course includes training on portable powered tools (drills, saws, jackhammers), small mobile plant machinery (mini-excavators, dumpers), routine inspections, maintenance, hazard recognition, and safe operation. Participants also learn demolition and dismantling techniques by hand, material removal and separation, and how to use machinery for recycling and waste management.
The programme emphasizes safe work practices, teamwork, communication, and practical competence. Upon completion, learners will be qualified to carry out demolition work safely and efficiently while operating small mobile plant equipment.

KLO4 – Interpretation: Read and interpret method statements, civil engineering drawings, and health & safety reports; identify and use appropriate PPE, RPE, and LVE equipment.
