Health certificate confirming fitness for course participation, issued by a General Practitioner.
Overall Programme Description:
This programme equips learners with the knowledge and skills required to assist a qualified concreter on construction sites. It covers concrete properties, mixing, pouring, finishing, and curing techniques. Participants gain hands-on experience with tools and equipment, learn safe work practices, and develop teamwork and communication skills. The course prepares learners to support quality concrete work while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Knowledge Learners Will Gain:
KL01: Roles and responsibilities under the Health and Safety Act, including safety risks and procedures.
KL02: Procedures for maintaining and managing plant, tools, and equipment.
KL03: Methods for calculating concrete quantities accurately.
KL04: Properties of common concrete, mix ratios, additives, and environmental effects.
KL05: Processes and importance of concrete curing and compaction techniques.
KL06: Industrial site hazards including cutting disks, ladders, and cables.
KL07: Environmentally friendly waste management and safety data sheet awareness.
KL08: Reading and interpreting civil engineering drawings, including levels, gradients, and bearings.
Skills Learners Will Develop:
SL01: Apply safe working practices and PPE usage.
SL02: Correct use, maintenance, and preventive maintenance of tools and equipment.
SL03: Operate levelling and compaction tools, and other concrete finishing equipment.
SL04: Assist in preparing and pouring concrete with proper handling and compaction.
SL05: Perform and document concrete curing procedures.
SL06: Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
SL07: Manage industrial hurdles, cutting disks, ladders, and electrical cables safely.
SL08: Handle and store hazardous materials, including lifting and storm-water protection.
SL09: Maintain accurate records of concrete ordering, casting, and curing.
