The MQF Level 2 Award in Working at Height Awareness equips participants with essential knowledge and understanding of risks and safety measures associated with working at height.
Participants will explore relevant Maltese and EU legislation, hazard identification, and risk assessment techniques. The course covers control measures—both collective (e.g. edge protection) and personal (e.g. fall-arrest PPE such as harnesses and lanyards)—plus safe use of ladders, planning elevated tasks, and emergency rescue considerations. Instruction is delivered through theoretical sessions, case studies, and interactive discussion.
Upon successful completion, learners receive an MQF Level 2 certificate in Working at Height Awareness, demonstrating their competence in height safety and their ability to support safer working environments.

Module 1: Fundamentals of Work at Height Safety

Module 2: Fall Prevention and Emergency Procedures

Learners will gain knowledge of:
The key hazards and risks associated with working at height.
National regulations and industry standards governing work at height.
Types, selection, and inspection of fall protection systems and equipment.
Safe work methods and environmental considerations when working above ground level.
Emergency and rescue procedures applicable to work-at-height situations.
Learners will develop skills to:
Identify and assess risks prior to and during work at height.
Correctly select and use personal protective equipment (PPE) and fall prevention systems.
Conduct visual inspections of work areas, access points, and safety gear.
Implement safe work practices and fall prevention measures on-site.
Respond appropriately to height-related incidents and emergencies.
